High Winds Expected to Cause Damage in New York State

This week, New York State is expected to experience additional extreme weather but at least this time, it’s not snow. High winds and rain are expected to move across the state, which may bring property damage with it. The Governor issued a statement on behalf of the state urging residents of New York to take precautions that may protect their homes and business from the potential damage that may be caused by these winds. Some gusts of wind are even expected to reach up to 75 miles per hour.

The state is urging residents not to take part in unnecessary travel during this time. Vehicles across the state were encouraged to use extreme caution if they are required to be on the roadways. In addition, recreational boaters are encouraged to remain in port and make sure to take shelter until wind gusts and waves have gotten less extreme.

If your home or business suffers property damage as a result of high winds or flooding during this weather pattern, you may need to retain the services of a public adjuster who can give an accurate assessment of the cost of the damage to submit to the insurance company.
